David and Sylvia (sadly the wedding did not take place)

David was suffering from Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukaemia and already receiving palliative care when contact was made with My Wedding Wish by Donna Sauer, a Tweed Hospital Palliative Social Worker.  David and Sylvia, who shared a home together in Murwillumbah, NSW, wished was for a small elopement style ceremony.

Sadly, David’s prognosis at that time had been estimated between weeks to months left but he passed before all the legal requirements could be met.
